Colorado Pain Care - Lakewood Clinic is looking for an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join the team!

Position Summary

Responsible for providing safe and effective perioperative care to patients undergoing invasive procedures.

Compensation:

$104,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performing preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care, stress test evaluations, cardiac monitoring, vascular monitoring, and health assessments
  • Performing physical exams and health histories
  • Providing health promotion, counseling, and education
  • Performing diagnostic tests
  • Administering medications, both IV and PO
  • Observing and records patient behavior
  • Interpreting patient information and make critical decisions about needed actions
  • Coordinating, in collaboration with a wide array of healthcare professionals
  • Conducting research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes; and participates in continuing education
  • Supporting unit teams administratively and maintains unit and equipment
  • Ensuring performance is in compliance with all applicable laws, guidelines, policies, and procedures to include HIPAA; Health and Safety policies (e.g., OSHA); department policies and procedures, and facility quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess a nursing degree from an accredited program of professional nursing
  • Possess an RN license from the State Board of Nursing
  • Possess BLS Certification
  • Possess ACLS Certification
  • Possess current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting (within past five years) or be a new nursing graduate (within last two years)
  • Working knowledge of the nursing process and its application, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor
  • Effective oral, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations
  • Skilled in the use of several machines and special equipment including Patient Monitors, Post-Operative Appliances, Medical Chairs or Stretchers, Positioning Equipment.
  • Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to assess treatment and care for specific patient populations (i.e., neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, and geriatrics); and to understand and react effectively to their unique needs
  • Ability to work both independently managing multiple projects, as well as collaboratively with others to achieve common goals
  • Ability to achieve results in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to identify and proactively solve problems
  • Ability to thrive in a patient-focused environment
  • Ability to organizes on a continuum due to the changing status of the patients and the environment
  • Ability to properly and efficiently administer IVs
  • Ability to demonstrate Pain Doctor’s core values and performance principles of leadership, integrity, kindness, excellence, and service

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be exposed to some hazards such as radiation, bodily fluids that may contain disease, and fumes from laboratory chemicals.
