General Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure adequate and appropriate staffing within the facility’s nursing department. You will balance the needs of our residents with budget and census requirements to maintain a high standard of care.

Essential Duties & Administrative Functions
Scheduling: Create and maintain monthly nursing schedules, coordinating requests to ensure full coverage across all units. Post work sheets and time schedules accurately.
Staffing Management: Maintain current contact lists for all resident care employees and department managers. Answer employee calls regarding scheduling and staffing functions.
Attendance Tracking: Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars; report excessive attendance issues to the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) per facility policy.
Recruitment Support: Handle applicant inquiries regarding position availability and coordinate interviews. Ensure new hires have schedules and time cards ready before orientation.
Record Keeping: Complete necessary nursing employee records for hiring, job changes, and discharges. Assist staff with forms related to leave requests and time cards.
Collaboration: Consult with nursing supervisors to eliminate problem areas in staffing; work with HR and the DNS to schedule employees on modified work duty.
Compliance & Privacy: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resident health information and facility data; ensure all administrative functions meet facility and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to develop a strong rapport with interdepartmental personnel.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and standardizing work methods.
