Position Title: Nurse Operations, LPN, Respite Care Home

FLSA/Status: Part-time/Full-time, Non-Exempt

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Respite Services

Schedule: Full-time 40 Hrs. Monday-Friday 9a-5p

Pay Rate: $31/Hour



Position Summary:

The Nurse Operations LPN ensures high-quality medical care and treatment for residents, documenting in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. You’ll work collaboratively with the Respite Care Home Manager and Coordinator to meet the needs of residents and supervise Direct Support Professionals during your shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safety, health, and welfare of all individuals served.
  • Document medical care and treatment per the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Train and assist Direct Support Professionals in providing comprehensive care.
  • Oversee infection control and compliance with bloodborne pathogen standards.
  • Administer medications, track inventory, and reorder as needed.
  • Provide Med Aide skills development for Direct Support Professionals.
  • Maintain Individual Record Books and update Medication Administration Records (MARS).
  • Accompany residents to medical appointments as needed and follow up on lab work or physician orders.
  • Serve as a liaison with pharmacies, healthcare practitioners, and hospitals.
  • Perform monthly vitals and weights in compliance with the Department of Mental Health standards.
  • Collaborate on staff scheduling and attend monthly staff meetings.

Qualifications:

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  • One year previous experience preferred.

  • Maintain sound nursing judgment.

  • Assess vital signs parameters and recognize when to call 911.

  • Must be able to write and document in a clear, concise, and professional manner.

  • Demonstrate critical thinking, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Possess the ability to use Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Outlook, Word, and Excel.


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Driver’s License

  • LPN License in the State of Missouri


Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

  • Moderate Work – Exerts up to 50lbs of force occasionally and 20lbs frequently. Standing, sitting, reaching, typing, and walking are common.


Prerequisites for Employment:

  • Criminal Background Check

  • Family Care Safety Registry Check

  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) Check, Proof of Insurance
