Case Mix: Low & High Risk OB, GYN emergencies

Beds in Dept: 36 rooms

10 L&D, 8 antepartum, 18 postpartum

No of ORs: 2
EMR System: Epic
Specialty Backup Available: Laborist back-up and perinatology
Support Staff: RNs

PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE

Hospital Privileges Required: No
Temporary Privileges Available: Yes

REQUIRED PROCEDURES

Required
- Low & High risk pregnancy
- FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
- OB Ultrasounds - Performance of, interpretation (Level I/Screening (viability), Level II/Targeted (anatomic), Amniocentesis)
- Routine & Complicated delivery
- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- Surgical GYN

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Board: BC/BE
Licenses: CA
DEA: Required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide coverage for unassigned OB patients and unassigned Gyn emergency department patients.
Perform surgical management including c-sections, spontaneous abortions, and ovarian torsion.
Assist private physicians with planned and unplanned C-sections.
Oversee labor of low and high-risk OB patients.
Collaborate with laborist back-up and perinatology as needed.
