The goal of the Occupational Health Nurse is to oversee the workers compensation program/injury coordination and partner with the facility Safety and Security Officer to ensure the safety and well-being of all patients, employees, physicians, and visitors, as well as the assets of the facility. The Occupational Health Nurse will also will function as a designated liaison between WVMC and community employers to promote Health and Wellness programs offered by WVMC to ensure connectivity, execution and follow through on potential and defined opportunities for program development. Position Responsibilities:•Injury Management: Investigates work injuries, ensures injury related paperwork is completed thoroughly and within established time limits, works with claims management organization to process workers compensation claims and provide other related information, inputs data for tracking and monitoring of injuries and conducts case management functions on employee injuries as appropriate.•Return-to-work: In conjunction with Human Resources, coordinates return to work activities. Ensures proper paperwork and signatures are obtained for ongoing claims/case management. Works with occupational medicine physicians to ensure coordinated thorough review of patient status and job requirements to ensure appropriate, safe return-to-work timeline within established policies and procedures.
Licensure/certification/registration: CPR required. Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) preferredB.S. or equivalent in experience in Occupational Medicine preferredThree to Five years occupational medicine and worker’s comp experience in a hospital setting
