Job Description - Occupational Therapist

Job Title: Occupational Therapist.
Location: Sacramento VA Medical Center.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Qualifications:
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in any U.S. state or territory.
  • Board certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) with current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Minimum one year of inpatient rehabilitation experience for inpatient roles.
  • Minimum one year of outpatient orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation experience for outpatient roles.
Duties: 
  • Evaluate patients to assess functioning and impairments.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans with measurable goals.
  • Prescribe and train in the use of wheelchairs and mobility devices.
  • Assess patient deformities and ensure proper fit of equipment.
  • Re-evaluate progress and modify treatments as necessary.
  • Train family members in patient handling.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety standards.
