Join a Team You’ll Want to Stay With

At Professional Physical Therapy, we don’t just hire great clinicians — we build environments where they can do their best work and continue growing their expertise. Our Back Bay clinic is home to a growing upper-extremity specialty program, offering clinicians the opportunity to treat complex cases, collaborate closely with referring physicians, and advance their skills in hand therapy.

From structured onboarding and paid national certifications to advanced clinical pathways and leadership opportunities, we invest in your journey — not just your job.

Since 1999, we’ve expanded to 250+ clinics across the Northeast through community, collaboration, and clinical excellence. Here, your growth matters. Your leadership matters. Your future matters.

Let’s build something bigger — together.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Start Strong: Structured onboarding and consistent mentorship.
  • Keep Growing: Industry-leading CEU program, including paid national certifications (CHT support available).
  • Lighten the Load: Student loan reimbursement.
  • Real Balance: Generous PTO because life outside the clinic matters.
  • Stay Covered: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision — plus pet insurance.
  • Plan Ahead: Company-match 401(k).
  • Chart Your Path: Specialty tracks including hand therapy and upper-extremity specialization.
  • Move Freely: 250+ locations across 5 states = real opportunities for internal mobility and relocation.

What You’ll Do

  • Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations focused on upper-extremity function and performance.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, and improve daily activity participation.
  • Treat a wide range of post-surgical and complex upper-extremity conditions, including tendon repairs, fractures, ligament injuries, nerve injuries, and post-operative hand and wrist procedures.
  • Deliver manual therapy and evidence-based upper-extremity interventions aligned with physician referrals and patient goals.
  • Design and fabricate custom orthoses and splints for complex upper-extremity conditions.
  • Educate patients on home exercise programs, activity modification, and functional strategies to support recovery.
  • Collaborate closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize outcomes.
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and support staff to deliver exceptional patient care.
  • Support and guide Occupational Therapy Assistants and aides, as applicable.
  • Contribute to clinical mentorship, collaboration, and best-practice development within the team.

What You Bring

  • Active (or in-progress) state Occupational Therapist license.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) strongly preferred; candidates actively pursuing CHT certification are encouraged to apply.
  • 3–5+ years of dedicated hand therapy experience, including treatment of post-surgical, orthopedic, and upper extremity conditions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in upper extremity evaluation, splint fabrication, and evidence-based treatment planning.
  • Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage complex cases with a high level of autonomy.
  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to patient-centered, outcomes-driven care.
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
