On Call Substitute Teacher

The Substitute teacher  steps in to manage a classroom when one of the regular teachers are absent, following provided lesson plans and maintaining a positive learning environment. They ensure continuity of instruction while managing classroom behavior and addressing students' needs during the school day.

Responsibilities

• Arrive promptly to the assigned school or classroom as needed.
• Follow lesson plans left by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of learning.
• Manage classroom behavior according to the school's rules and policies.
• Take attendance and report any absences to the office as required.
• Provide supervision during recess, lunch, and other activities as assigned.
• Adapt to different subjects and grade levels, often with little preparation time.
• Communicate with students in a clear and respectful manner.
• Report any incidents or issues that arise to the school administration.
• Leave detailed notes about the day's activities, including what was completed, behavior notes, and any other relevant information.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the school day.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school matters.
• Follow emergency procedures as outlined by the school, such as fire drills.
