Southern Lumber & Millwork has been serving builders, contractors, architects, and homeowners throughout the Charleston area for more than 85 years. As a family-owned and operated building materials supplier, we specialize in lumber, windows, doors, custom millwork, and construction materials.

We are seeking a motivated Operations Management Trainee to learn the inner workings of our business through hands-on experience and mentorship from experienced leaders.

This is a competitive opportunity designed for individuals who want to grow their knowledge of operations, logistics, inventory management, distribution, customer service, and the building materials industry. Through a structured training plan, you'll gain exposure to multiple departments and learn how they work together to deliver the Southern Difference.

Rather than being assigned to a single department, you'll spend time learning various areas of our operation while developing the skills needed to take on greater responsibilities in the future.

What You'll Learn

As part of your training, you'll gain experience in:

• Receiving and inventory management

• Warehouse and distribution operations

• Shipping and order fulfillment

• Fleet operations and truck logistics

• Customer service and sales support

• Building materials operations

• Process improvement and operational efficiency

• Team communication and leadership fundamentals

• Safety and quality standards

Preferred Qualifications

Strong candidates will have previous experience in one or more of the following:

• Warehouse operations

• Distribution center operations

• Building materials or lumber

• Construction industry experience

• Logistics and transportation

• Inventory management

• Manufacturing operations

• Team lead, supervisor, or leadership experience

We are willing to train the right individual, but candidates should have a strong work ethic, professional experience, and a desire to continue developing their career.

Compensation & Benefits

• Paid every Friday + overtime available weekly
• Full-time schedule Monday-Friday with weekends and holidays off
• Benefits package including health, dental, vision, and more
