The Operations Manager — Operations Strategy & Planning is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring operational strategies and plans that support organizational goals. This position analyzes business performance, forecasts operational requirements, optimizes resources, and leads initiatives designed to improve efficiency, productivity, service quality, and cost effectiveness.
The Operations Manager works closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans and measurable results.
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
Translate corporate strategy into actionable operational plans, initiatives, and performance targets.
Develop short-term and long-term operational plans based on business needs, market conditions, and organizational priorities.
Analyze current and projected business volumes to determine operational capacity and resource requirements.
Develop workforce, capacity, staffing, and resource plans to support business demand.
Monitor operational performance against established goals, budgets, KPIs, and service-level targets.
Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Develop and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and performance metrics.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, increase efficiency, and enhance service delivery.
Lead strategic operational improvement and transformation initiatives.
Conduct scenario planning and business impact analysis to support operational decision-making.
Develop contingency and business continuity plans for operational risks and changing business conditions.
Partner with Finance to develop operational budgets, forecasts, and cost plans.
Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Coordinate resource allocation across teams, departments, and business functions.
Establish operational standards, processes, procedures, and performance expectations.
Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to standardize and improve workflows.
Collaborate with Sales, Finance, HR, IT, Supply Chain, and other departments to align operational plans.
Lead cross-functional meetings and strategic planning sessions.
Prepare operational performance reports and strategic recommendations for senior management.
Monitor industry trends, customer requirements, and business conditions that may affect operations.
Evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes that can improve operational performance.
Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational scorecards.
Manage operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure operational activities comply with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and applicable regulations.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
Mentor and develop operations team members and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in operations management, strategic planning, business operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing operational plans and strategies.
Strong knowledge of operational planning, resource management, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
Experience managing cross-functional initiatives and operational improvement projects.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with reporting and analytics tools.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced business environment.
MBA or master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other relevant professional certification.
Experience with strategic planning and business transformation.
Experience with ERP, workforce management, or enterprise operations systems.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence tools.
Knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and cost management.
Experience developing operational models, forecasts, and capacity plans.
Experience managing large-scale or multi-department operational initiatives.
