Operations Manager

Summary

A well-established building materials supplier in the metro Atlanta area is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of its slab sales business. You will own every step from the initial proposal through final delivery to the fabricator. Working closely with the sales, procurement, and warehouse teams, you'll manage pricing, sourcing, inventory, and logistics while providing a high level of internal customer service that keeps sales moving and fabricators well informed. Responsibilities

Sales and Fabricator Support

• Serve as the primary operational partner to the slab sales team across the full sales cycle
• Act as the main point of contact for fabricators on slab reservations, proposals, and order status
• Prepare and issue sales proposals within 48 hours of request, including revisions and e-signature requests, and follow up with purchasers to collect payment
• Take incoming calls and manage fabricator call-in orders from proposal through shipment
• Reserve slabs per customer requests and manage reservations according to company timelines
• Send purchasers a weekly status update on slabs that have not yet shipped
• Promote new slab releases and relevant job opportunities to the sales team
• Execute and manage all slab change orders
  

Pricing and Estimating

• Own and maintain the zone price list, calculating budgetary and list pricing for all slabs
  
• Create and process Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates for slab projects
  

Sourcing and Procurement

• Manage domestic sourcing for slab sales as well as fabrication and field services
  
• Manage relationships with wholesale slab vendors and oversee the purchase order process for domestic sourcing
  
• Coordinate with procurement leadership on shipping and delivery of stock and project orders

Inventory, Merchandising and Logistics

• Coordinate incoming containers with warehouse leadership and the inventory control team
  
• Partner with the warehouse team on slab merchandising and maintain in-warehouse slab signage
  
• Manage slab logistics from booking through delivery, communicating closely with the warehouse team
  
• Manage relationships with freight and logistics carriers to deliver a consistently excellent customer experience
  
• Communicate directly with fabricators on delivery status and coordination
  
• File all truck and delivery photos in the appropriate client folders

Administrative and Cross-Functional

• Submit invoicing documentation to the accounting team
  
• Support special projects as assigned
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred
  
• Experience in stone procurement or a related industry
  
• Working knowledge of natural stone and its residential and commercial applications
  
• Design background is a plus
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive, customer-focused attitude
  
• Ability to present effectively one-on-one and in small groups with customers, clients, and colleagues
  
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  
• Above-average proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  
• Additional language skills are a plus

Work Environment and Schedule

• Primarily office-based in a comfortable environment with a normal noise level
  
• Occasional travel to vendors, job sites, and client meetings
  
• Monday through Friday, eight-hour days
• Some evening and weekend availability is needed to communicate with international vendors
