Performs assignments in technical processes for the Safeguards & Security Personnel Security program. This position will be responsible for assisting management in leading the Badging and Clearance personnel in the execution of their day-to day duties. Assists management with CNS standardization/integration planning, execution, and sustainment. Notifies management of access issues and concerns, performs customer service activities, and interacts and communicates with federal and contractor personnel in support of security programs. Maintains accurate database records and runs database queries. Following guidance from management, initiates and controls the actions of the work group and assists in maintaining team focus to accomplish tasks to standard.
Provides guidance to the clearance processing staff on security clearance actions and to the badging staff on badging actions. Handles administrative duties associated with the work group, and makes recommendations to management. Provides guidance and personal interaction to promote positive work environment and encourages individual involvement. Identifies and assists in solving problems within the work group. Provides training to badging and clearance staff and assists with ongoing employee development. Makes decisions within the work group and provides recommendations to management. Maintains Personnel Security equipment and ensures resources are available to employees. Contributes to the safety and customer service attitude and expectations for performance at the work site. Performs process troubleshooting. Works as an integral team member with effort directed toward achieving Personnel Security Program goals.
The employee’s primary duty is the performance of office or non-manual work directly related to the management or general operations of Personnel Security, and such primary duty includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment denoted as follows: examples include – having the authority to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices; carrying out major assignments related to the operation of Personnel Security business
Independent judgment and discretion involving the comparison and evaluation of possible courses of conduct and having the authority to make an independent choice, free from immediate direction with respect to matters of significance.
