Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Operations Staff to work on our Radiological Controls Program Operations team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility onsite in Idaho Falls, Idaho with every other Friday off.

Idaho National Laboratory seeks Operations Staff to advance America's energy leadership by ensuring safe, efficient operations that uphold cutting-edge nuclear and scientific research, with work directly supporting breakthroughs in energy innovation and national security. You will collaborate with subject matter experts and ESH&Q Process & Data Systems staff to prioritize updates for Radiological Control (RadCon) applications. Your duties involve managing program records from both manual and digital sources, overseeing change management activities, preparing organizational communications, assisting with requirements management, and arranging information gathering from different managers and team members. Additionally, you are responsible for ensuring staff training plans are current and contain all the latest requirements applicable to each position.


 

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate overall priority of RadCon application enhancements for ESH&Q P&DS.
  • Work with RadCon application SMEs to get requirements developed, testing completed, approval to deploy, and communications out to application users on the changes. 
  • Manage access permissions to RadCon applications.
  • Manage RadCon program records to ensure compliance with records retention requirements.
  • Oversee change management activities for RadCon program changes, including periodic evaluation of active controlled documents to determine necessity.
  • Prepare Organizational Communications to keep staff updated on changes and process improvements.
  • Assist with requirements management for the RadCon organization.
  • Coordinate and arrange for periodic information gathering from deployed management and team members
  • Review and update training plans and coordinate scheduling and information gathering for the manager message in RCT training.
  • Provide assistance with RSRT for sources, RGDs, program assessments, and other related tasks.

 

Required:

  • Level 2: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited institution and 2 years of experience.
  • Level 3: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field from an accredited institution and 5 years of experience.
  • Relevant experience determined with level. Professional experience in an operations capacity or other technical areas.
  • Familiarity with Radiological control regulatory requirements.
  • In exceptional circumstances, equivalent education and experience may be considered.

 

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Advanced degree in a technical field (i.e., Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering).
  • Familiarity with dashboards including: EDMS, LabWay, Power BI, SharePoint, Tableau, P6, or others.
  • Knowledge in developing custom products using scripting and programming languages such as R, Python, CSS, JavaScript, etc.

 

Job Information:

  • The pay range for this position is: Level #2 ($57,444 - $112,068) / Level #3 ($66,504 - $136,356). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  •  Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on depth and breadth of proven experience and skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required.
