Operations Technician 1

CRC is seeking to fill an Operations Technician role for our Roosevelt, Utah office. Under direct supervision, the Operations Technician 1 performs routine tasks supporting the company's production activities in the office. This position is responsible for setting up and maintaining files, assisting in preparing and submitting required governmental reports, and shares responsibility for monitoring and optimizing processing systems while maintaining mechanical integrity.

Key Accountabilities

• May be trained in the use of LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) protocols and equipment.


• May perform administrative functions related to maintenance and compliance documentation.


• May ensure emissions are systematically identified, assess risks, and manage them.


• May maintain emission facility automation.


• Coordinates all active U.I.C. (Underground Injection Control) project requirements.


• Coordinates mechanical integrity testing.


• Compiles and maintains regulatory documentation databases or systems.


• Coordinates efforts associated with the preparation of regulatory documents or submissions.


• Communicates with regulatory agencies regarding pre-submission strategies, potential regulatory pathways, compliance test requirements, or clarification and follow-up of submissions under review.


• Escorts government inspectors during inspections and provides post-inspection follow-up information as requested.


• Maintains a current knowledge base of existing and emerging regulations, standards, or guidance documents.


• Prepares or directs the preparation of additional information or responses as requested by regulatory agencies.


• Collaborates with facility engineers to optimize systems and ensure appropriate records are maintained.


• May troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and replace systems associated with engines and fugitive gas issues.


• Performs routine and preventative maintenance to optimize mechanical performance and operating efficiency.


• Maintains the performance of temperature, pressure, flow, and level measurement control equipment and valves, hydraulic controls, and single-loop controllers.


• Responsible for monitoring the gathering system compression through automation and accurate reporting and data collection on spills.


• Ensures effective and reliable communications to other locations.


• Assists with spill prevention through testing of chatterboxes and Murphy switches.


• Ensures the timely and accurate execution of automation control requests.


• Effectively communicates with the team, team leader, and other teams or customers, both internal and external.


• Ensures regulatory and corporate compliance, which may entail working with State and Federal employees or attending educational events regarding fugitive emissions.


• Monitors equipment and equipment parameters.


• Collects data and assists with data troubleshooting.


• Installs and maintains production facility automation.


• Performs administrative functions relating to maintenance documentation.


• Ensures hazards are systematically identified and risks assessed and managed.


• Ensures facilities and processes are fit for service.


• Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve the safety and integrity of the operation.


• Ensures protective systems and devices are in place to prevent, detect, control, or mitigate incidents.


• Collaborates with the operational and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) team to effectively meet area and departmental HSE goals.


• Complies with all the company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs, and takes corrective action within training limitations, escalating as necessary.


• Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and improve job performance.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Certificates, Licenses

• High School Diploma / GED equivalent required


• 2-year Technical degree or Associate's degree preferred


• Valid Driver’s License required.

Experience

• 0 to 3 years of oil and gas industry experience.


• Experience working with regulatory agencies preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Demonstrated self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Required:

• Basic computer skills: proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, as well as DCS/SCADA control systems.


• Knowledge of regulatory and HSE requirements and policies, as well as emergency response procedures.


• Demonstrated commitment to safety.

Desired:

• Experience working with camera equipment as it relates to monitoring equipment or capturing data related to the production process.


• Experience with FLIR or Opgal camera.

Work Environment

This role works primarily in a non-office environment. In this capacity, incumbents are regularly:

• Exposed to outdoor elements such as extreme heat or cold, heavy winds, rain, or snow.


• Exposed to loud noise level elements


• Required to drive to and access and inspect locations and/or systems with equipment, in light of day as well as in darkness, to perform work assignments. Some job site locations may be remote from the office requiring long drives to locations isolated from interaction with others and towns.


• Required to balance, bend, squat, crouch, climb, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, push/pull and lift objects, and use apparatus to push/pull and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.


• Subject to exposure to hazards such as but not limited to slippery or uneven surfaces; environmental/industry hazards such as chemicals, high-decibel noise from production equipment, fumes, or poor ventilation; proximity to moving objects and vehicles; potentially combustible components; hazardous off-road conditions such as dust, ice, and snow.


• May be requested to work long hours to complete job assignments.


• May work a rotating schedule, shift, and/or be on call.


• Follow all company safety policies and protocols.


• Required to perform active, physical tasks including but not limited to operating equipment and/or machinery and making adjustments and repairs.


• Required to have visual acuity to work with parts, equipment, apparatus, etc.


• Required to possess audible acuity to hear alarms in the event of emergency. field locations.
