Assists patients in the selection of frames and lenses. This requires a knowledge of optical related products.
Performs patient pretesting including oral history and gathering data through use of common eyecare diagnostic instruments.
Repairs, adjusts and orders eye glass frames.
Teaches new contact lens wearers how to apply, remove, clean and care for lenses.
Performs tasks involving insurance verification, billing and coding, appointment scheduling, scanning & filing in charts.
Assists in management of data through reports & graphing related to inventory, volume and efficiency both in the dispensary and patient care area.
What you’ll need to be successful:
High school diploma or equivalent
One year recent experience working in an eye care position or in a healthcare setting involving direct patient care
Experience with computers and office machines, including Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, Access, and One Note. Experience with electronic health record.
Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
FCP complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.â¯
Preferred qualifications:
Certified Para-Optometric Assistant (CPOA), American Board of Opticianry (ABO) upon hire
