This position offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated optometrist to join a patient-focused practice, either as a part-time employee or an independent contractor. The ideal candidate is a strong clinician who prioritizes comprehensive, compassionate patient care while delivering high-quality routine and medical eye exams.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough eye examinations, focusing on both vision and ocular health
Build meaningful relationships with patients, providing education and tailored care
Collaborate with a supportive team, including technicians, scribes, front desk, and sales staff
Utilize state-of-the-art electronic health records
Participate in continuous learning and training on new equipment and procedures
Schedule & Work Environment:
Flexible part-time hours with preferred days: Monday, Tuesday, plus one Friday and Saturday per month
Average schedule: 3 patients per hour (with bonus opportunity for additional patients); option to increase to 4 per hour with a higher salary
Typical daily volume: 30-35 patients
Support staff includes one technician (3 patients/hour), one technician plus one scribe (4 patients/hour), and 3-4 additional front desk/sales/insurance team members
All equipment provided; comprehensive training available for unfamiliar devices or software
Compensation & Benefits:
$75 per hour if seeing 3 patients per hour, with bonuses for additional patients
Negotiable higher salary for 4 patients per hour
3% 401(k) match (if employed)

Assistance with continuing education
Paid time off (negotiable)
Signing bonus available; no relocation assistance
