Job Description - Orthopedic Surgeon - Total Joint Arthroplasty

Job Description:

About this role:

As a Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeon, part of the Musculoskeletal team at Intermountain Health, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role you can expect to work at Platte Valley and St. Joseph Hospital. 

The team consists of 12 providers: 5 APPs, 4 MDs and 3 DPMs. Fellow physicians specialize in total joints, sports medicine, and hand surgery. We are currently seeking a Fellowship Trained Total Joint Arthroplasty Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team. 

  • This position includes a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance (if applicable)

  • You will practice at Platte Valley and St. Joseph Hospital; there will be occasional needs at the Good Samaritan Hospital

  • You can anticipate 2 days per week in surgery and dedicated in-office clinic days 3 days per week

  • Level III general orthopedic call, roughly Q5. Compensation offered for call requirement

  • You can anticipate occasional ER calls, inpatient consults and rounding with APPs

  • Stryker Mako Robot at Platte Valley Hospital and St Joseph Hospital

An ideal candidate will be fellowship trained in total joint arthroplasty with a desire to take general orthopedic call and perform occasional sports medicine procedures as needed. Robotic experience with the Stryker Mako Robot and upper extremity experience are a plus but not required.

What you’ll bring:

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree; or equivalent if education is completed outside the United States

  • Completion of graduate fellowship medical education training program in Orthopedic Surgery

  • Graduate education must be obtained through an ACGME or AOA accredited institution

  • ABMS or equivalent AOA Board Certification in the specialty(s) or subspecialty(s) of practice

  • Fellowship training in adult reconstruction / total joint arthroplasty

  • Active Medical Licensure, or in process of obtaining licensure, is required in the state in which physician will practice

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers

  • DEA Registration schedules II-V

  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
