About the Role


Outside Sales Engineer | Montana & Wyoming


At S. Conley Sales, you won’t just sell equipment—you’ll shape projects from concept to completion.


We help customers solve real mechanical challenges with reliable HVAC solutions, backed by 75+ years of combined experience and deep relationships across Montana and Wyoming. As part of the Meriton network, we blend local grit with national reach—giving you the tools, support, and opportunity to grow fast.


This is a high-impact, high-ownership role. From the moment a project is “sold,” you’re the quarterback—owning timelines, technical details, communication, and outcomes.

What You’ll Do



  • Own projects end-to-end—you’re the main point of contact from bid to close

  • Build and manage relationships with engineers, contractors, owners, and manufacturers

  • Develop HVAC system solutions, selections, and designs using manufacturer tools

  • Create competitive bids, estimates, and proposals with clear value

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously—keeping timelines, budgets, and execution on track

  • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, estimating, project management) to deliver results

  • Guide customers through system design, equipment selection, and technical decisions

  • Stay on top of account activity and keep leadership informed on progress

Basics



  • Bachelor’s degree required (Mechanical Engineering or related preferred)

  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and equipment applications

  • Experience with system design, estimating, or equipment selection preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office + HVAC selection software / ERP systems


Compensation & Benefits



  • Salary: $80,000–$130,000 + commission (approx. 40% variable structure)

  • Health insurance, 401(k) with match, life insurance
