Outside Sales Representative – Bakery & Specialty Foods Distribution | Monsey, NY & Brooklyn, NY · $70K + Commission

About the Role A well-established food distribution company is looking for a driven outside sales representative to manage and grow an existing route of specialty grocery accounts across Monsey, Brooklyn, and surrounding areas. This is a relationship-first sales role — you're not just delivering product, you're the face of the brand in every store you walk into, working to keep shelves full, well-placed, and moving. If you know how to read a room, build trust with store owners, and spot an opportunity to sell more, this role offers real earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

• Visit assigned stores on a consistent weekly schedule, building strong relationships with store managers and owners


• Identify opportunities to expand shelf space, add new product lines, and secure premium placement


• Promote weekly specials and negotiate in-store displays to drive sales

Route & Order Coordination

• Place product orders directly with the warehouse/delivery team ahead of each route day


• Follow a structured weekly route covering different regions each day (routes span Monsey/Monroe, Williamsburg, Queens, Lakewood NJ, and Boro Park/Flatbush)


• Communicate regularly with the delivery team to ensure smooth, on-time fulfillment

Merchandising & Product Strategy

• Monitor how products are performing on the shelf and adjust strategy accordingly


• Recognize and remove slow-moving inventory to protect shelf space and minimize returns


• Stay alert to market trends and new opportunities (e.g., store programs) that could grow sales volume

Qualifications

• Outside sales experience required; food industry experience is a strong plus


• Reliable vehicle for daily route travel


• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills — comfortable building relationships with store owners and managers


• Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable in a commission-driven environment


• Available for early morning starts and a consistent, structured weekly schedule
