Role Overview

As a Furnace/Oven Room Operator, you will run heat-treat operations that support consistent product quality and throughput. This role exists to ensure annealing and related thermal cycles are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

Key responsibilities include:
- Load/unload parts and coils; stage material per work order requirements
- Set, monitor, and document furnace temperatures, cycle times, and process parameters
- Confirm processed product meets specification; escalate quality concerns promptly
- Complete required production and traceability paperwork with attention to detail
- Perform routine checks/housekeeping; report equipment issues and safety hazards

Required knowledge/skills:
- Strong knowledge of the annealing process; safety-conscious chemical handling awareness
- Ability to read and follow a work order; clear communication and dependable teamwork
- Solid work ethic in a fast-paced environment

Daily Workflow

You’ll start on day shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:40 a.m.–4:10 p.m.) by reviewing the day’s work orders and confirming the correct setup for each annealing run. Throughout the shift, you’ll rotate between finishing-process equipment—such as pickling baths and multiple furnace types (annealing, quench, belt, strip, strand, and continuous casting)—tracking progress and keeping documentation current. You’ll coordinate with teammates to keep material moving smoothly, respond to priority changes, and maintain a clean, controlled work area while supporting steady casting output and consistent results.
