PACU Registered Nurse (RN)

A healthcare facility in Montrose is seeking a skilled Same Day Surgery / PACU Registered Nurse to join its perioperative services team.

This dayshift role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and is committed to delivering safe, efficient, and compassionate perioperative care.

The Same Day Surgery / PACU RN provides both preoperative and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing outpatient and same day surgical procedures. This role focuses on closely monitoring patients as they recover from anesthesia, managing pain and post-operative symptoms, and ensuring safe and timely discharge readiness in coordination with the surgical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and post-anesthesia care for surgical patients.
• Monitor patients during recovery from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
• Assess and manage pain, vital signs, and post-operative status.
• Support safe and efficient discharge planning and patient readiness.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perioperative team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Respond quickly to changes in patient condition in a recovery setting.
• Promote patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience in same day surgery, PACU, or perioperative care preferred.
• Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced surgical recovery environment.
• Commitment to patient safety and high-quality perioperative care.
