The Center for Disability Services offers hope, innovation and achievement to the people we support.  For 80 years, we have been one of upstate New York’s largest providers of programs and services for individuals who have disabilities. Many of the innovative programs and vital services that we offer are not available elsewhere. 

We are looking for a Painter to join our agency!

Responsibilities:

• Meets with individuals to define job to be accomplished: advises on effect the surfaces, lighting conditions, and location will have on preparations
• Selects appropriate products to accomplish jobs: removes grease, oil, dirt, mold, loose or peeling materials etc., so surfaces is properly prepared
• Patches cracks, holes, or other damaged areas, repairs and texture walls and similar surfaces
• Protects adjacent areas before painting by taping and using drop clothes
• Mixes paints using tinting bases and liquid colors, selects primer and application method
• Uses power sprayers, rollers, brushes and other equipment for applying paints and stains
• Check work and correct irregularities which would detract from appearance;
• Hang wallpaper, stripe parking lots
• Removes debris from work sites and performs general clean-up of work area
• Selects and maintain tools and equipment for jobs, maintain brushes, rollers, trays sprayers, compressors, and related equipment
• Stores paints and stains and inventories for future use
• Completes work orders and logs
• Assist other CFDS Maintenance personnel performing their duties as needed.

Requirements:

• More than 2 years of job related experience, specifically in Facilities Management and Building Trades
