Location: Hattie Mae White \n\nDepartment: HIPPY 3 \n\nArea:District Wide \n\nContract Months:10 \n\nSalary Range: $16.84 \u2013 $16.84 \n\nAcademic Year: 25-26 \n\n## JOB SUMMARY\n\nUnder direct supervision, recruits, trains, and supports parents in teaching their preschool aged children cognitive and literacy strategies, home-based and school- based, as part of the HIPPY (Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters) program and curriculum.\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES\n\n * Meets with assigned families each week for instruction of the HIPPY curriculum through role playing, at families\u2019 homes and at school when needed.\n * Completes data entry and report generation of Efforts To Outcomes (ETO) for national HIPPY data base regarding assigned families. Manages families\u2019 schedules and monitors participation in the program.\n * Participates in all sponsored HIPPY activities with assigned families.\n * Attends mandatory weekly in-service training of the HIPPY curriculum and other staff development activities.\n * Creates outreach material and rosters; completes other light clerical duties.\n\n\n\n## MAJOR DUTIES \u0026 RESPONSIBILITIES CONTINUED\n\nPerforms other job-related duties as assigned.\n\n## EDUCATION\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED\n\n## WORK EXPERIENCE\n\nNo experience \nHIPPY program and/or parent engagement experience preferred\n\n## SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION\n\nMicrosoft Office \nOffice equipment (e.g., computer, copier) \nAbility to work with databases \nStrong communication skills \nMust be able to provide own transportation \n\n## LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nNo supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.\n\n## WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT\n\nWork and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required, outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision.\n\n## BUDGET AUTHORITY\n\nNo budget development activity is required.\n\n## PROBLEM SOLVING\n\nDecisions are made on routine matters affecting few individuals and usually within the confines of the job\u0027s own department. Specific job activities and results are typically reviewed closely. There are limited requirements for developing new ideas or changes in methods, procedures or services.\n\n## IMPACT OF DECISIONS\n\nFollows rules and procedures. Decisions can have minimal or no impact to HISD. Errors can be readily detected, usually by the employee, and, if made, would result in minor expense for correction.\n\n## COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS\n\nBasic communication - very little communication required such as receiving basic instructions. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and co-workers in own department.\n\n## CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS\n\nFollows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints.
