The Parts Manager is tasked with overseeing a profitable parts department. This manager must achieve objectives through effective procedures, inventory control, and staff utilization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned

• Forecast goals and objectives for the department and set procedures to meet them.


• Maintain and organize an efficient warehouse environment.


• Maintain proper inventory mix, levels, standards, and security.


• Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence (____% or less of total inventory).


• Develop and administer a wholesale parts program to produce profit. 


• Direct shipping and receiving efforts to ensure timely processing.


• Implement procedures to ensure there are positive working relationships with other departments.


• Prepare and administer an annual operating budget for the service department.


• Attend managers' meetings as scheduled.


• Understand and keep abreast of, and comply with, federal, state, and local regulations that affect service operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, safety regulations, etc.


• Establish and maintain good customer working relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.


• Establish and maintain good working relationships with vocational and technical schools to enhance personnel recruitment activities.


• Serve as a liaison with factory representatives.


• Handle all customer complaints.


• Assist in the collection of past-due accounts.


• Ensure that work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean.

Qualifications:

The Parts Manager candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business Management, or equivalent Parts Manager experience (3+ years preferred).

• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and enthusiastic presence in a team environment with the ability to lead and influence others


• Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multi-task


• Experience building strong teams


• Consistent and stable work history


• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
