Pay: $108,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year

Location: Oakland, CA. This is primarily an on-site opportunity designed for attorneys who value close collaboration with partners and trial teams. Occasional remote flexibility may be available when needed, but this is not a regular hybrid position.

Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California and have 2+ years of patent litigation experience. We are specifically seeking an associate-level attorney rather than a highly senior attorney.

Job Description

• Work directly with partners and counsel on sophisticated patent litigation matters.
• Analyze patent infringement, validity, and other complex legal and technical issues.
• Draft briefs, pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and other substantive litigation documents.
• Conduct legal, factual, and technical research and investigations.
• Manage discovery and contribute to case strategy from early-stage litigation through trial preparation.
• Prepare for and take depositions while developing hands-on advocacy experience.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses on technical and evidentiary issues.
• Perform technical due diligence and analyze complex intellectual property matters.
• Take on increasing responsibility for motions, depositions, hearings, and trial team assignments as your experience grows.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license.
• 2+ years of patent litigation experience required.
• Associate-level background, ideally within the client's targeted 3 to 7 years of litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Ability and enthusiasm to take ownership of substantive litigation responsibilities.
• Engineering, computer science, or another technical background preferred, but not required.
