Patient Account Representative Medical Biller

Private neurological surgery practice

We are searching for a full-time Patient Account Representative / Medical Biller for
our busy private surgery practice located in Murray.  The practice is open Monday - Friday during
regular business hours, no nights or weekend required.  The hours could be flexible depending on
experience.

• Include:
• Verifying patient eligibility and coverage
  benefits.
• Obtain pre-authorization for radiology,
  surgical services or miscellaneous items as needed.
• Insurance billing and account follow-up using
  financial aging reports.
• Prepare refunds for patient receivables.
• Calculate patient responsibility, negotiate
  collections for services rendered or scheduled.
• Familiarization with insurance carrier
  guidelines for services provided.
• Answer billing inquires with patients,
  providers and staff.

• Must be dependable, honest, compassionate
  individual to work with our patients, providers and staff.
• Requires 3 to 5 years of healthcare
  collections or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of physician procedure and
  diagnosis coding.
• Excellent verbal and written communication
  and customer service skills. 
• Demonstrate knowledge of health insurance
  billing, collection processes / requirements, and    procedure and diagnosis coding. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and
  Outlook.
