The Patient Care Assistant position is part of the ICU Department and is a contingent position working approximately 12 hours per two-week pay period. Working shifts include 0645-1915 or 1845-0715, with a schedule that may include a combination of 12- and 8-hour shifts. This position includes weekend and holiday responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Hospital and departmental experience preferred

• Strong initiative, enthusiasm, and professionalism

• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently

• Customer service oriented and able to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care and perform non-professional services to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients

• Use a systematic approach to assess patient needs and work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff

• Adhere to all assigned standards and promote teamwork within the department

• Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and smooth ICU operations
