Patient Care Tech - Short Stay Unit

Patient Care Technicians provide direct and indirect patient care services under the supervision of licensed
nursing staff. The role supports the delivery of safe, timely, and patient-centered care by assisting with basic
clinical and supportive care needs in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. The Patient Care Technician
practice in alignment with organizational values, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions 
* Provide direct patient care assistance, including support with activities of daily living, mobility, hygiene, safety, and comfort measures.
* Assist licensed nursing staff with delegated patient care activities according to established clinical protocols. Observe patient condition and promptly report changes or concerns to licensed nursing staff.
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to patient care activities.
* Support patient safety, infection prevention, and environmental cleanliness standards.
* Respond appropriately to emergency situations and follow escalation procedures
* Prioritize assigned tasks and utilize resources effectively in a high-acuity clinical environment.
 

*High School Diploma or GED
*Certified Nursing Assistant license from FL DOH
Nursing Students
*Must be actively enrolled in an ASN or BSN program
*Fundamentals of Nursing course must be completed
