Patient Navigation Supervisor

With general direction and support from the Social Work Manager, the Patient Navigation Supervisor is responsible for provision of direct clinical services (60%) along with administrative and clinical support (40%) to the Patient Navigation department. The Patient Navigation Supervisor oversees day to day operations of the department, e.g., recruitment, orientation and ongoing training of staff; coordination of work across the team; participation in committees and workgroups as assigned; provision of consultation to Social Work Manager on coordination of Navigation and Social Work scopes of work; development of program tools and resources and interdisciplinary relationships, etc.

• Assesses and supports patients, families, and caregivers in overcoming practical barriers to care to promote full engagement in cancer treatment; develops and maintains partnerships with internal teams and community resources at local and national levels.
• Ensures adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards, including HIPAA, privacy, and safety requirements; maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with Fred Hutch standards.
• Partners with the Social Work Manager and HR in recruitment; leads onboarding, training, and ongoing staff development; provides supervision, coaching, and performance management, including annual evaluations and follow-up as needed.
• Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant; leads program development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient and caregiver services.
• Manages staffing and team capacity to meet fluctuating service demands; supports efficient day-to-day operations.
• Serves as liaison to internal departments, committees, and external partners; promotes coordinated, interdisciplinary care and effective referral pathways.
• Facilitates regular team meetings, huddles, and rounding; supports clear communication, staff engagement, and progress toward departmental goals; collaborates with staff to prioritize work and timelines.
• Develops reports and supports stakeholder information needs; contributes to departmental initiatives and completes additional leadership projects as assigned.
• Serves as the primary departmental contact in the absence of the Social Work Manager.

Required:

• BA/BS in Social Work or related health care discipline

Preferred: 

• Master's degree from accredited graduate program
• Demonstrates the ability and willingness to mentor and instruct patient navigator staff and others interested in learning about patient navigation
• Demonstrates the ability to work closely with other disciplines in promoting Psychosocial Oncology services locally and beyond
• Minimum of 5 years of health care experience preferred
• Certificate of Completion in Patient Navigation

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172.00 to $104,249.60, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.  

Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.
