Patient Service Representative Ambulatory Services

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) is the first point of contact for patients, families, and caregivers. They provide information and support in person, by phone, and electronically.

The PSR works with providers and staff to schedule patients in multiple EMR systems. They discuss copays and balances with patients, request employer authorization for occupational health and workers’ compensation services, and set up new company profiles.

They also document communication in the Occupational Health EMR and handle administrative tasks like maintaining medical records, scanning documents, and entering charges.

• Monday through Friday, 9:30-6pm OR 10:30-7pm

• Greet and check in patients

• Answer incoming calls; respond to inquiries, schedule appointments or direct caller to appropriate staff for assistance

• Work within an electronic medical records system

• Collect patient payments; applies payments and adjustments to patient accounts

• Balance daily encounter forms and cash drawers

• Additional daily administrative tasks based on practice specialty

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association-Preferred
