We are hiring for Patient Services Specialist position at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK!

Position is full-time, 1.0 FTE, 8-hr Variable shifts, 40 hours per week.

The Admitting Representative is responsible for the collection of demographic information to ensure accuracy for billing purposes by verifying patient information and benefit eligibility for insurance and third-party payers.  Receives payments and issues receipts on patient accounts as appropriate.  Oversee the operation of the Switch Board by answering all incoming calls, transfers, intercom and paging system.  Provides general support to patients, families, visitors, and other departments in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standards. Fosters change and teamwork to ensure constructive relationships and growth, while maintaining a positive and professional image when interacting with patients, their families, physicians, employees and general public.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of experience in admitting.
