Payroll Processor

Location: Tukwila, WA (Hybrid)

Type: Long-term consulting, full-time (6+ months)

Pay: $39/hour

SumBridge is hiring a Payroll Processor to join our client's Finance team in Tukwila, WA. This is a full-time, long-term consulting assignment expected to last six months or more, starting as soon as possible. You'll process biweekly and monthly payroll, keep tax reporting accurate and compliant, and partner with Human Resources on compensation and benefits. It's a great fit for a detail-oriented payroll professional who works well to deadlines, communicates clearly, and is comfortable working both with a team and independently. Healthcare coverage and paid time off are offered throughout the assignment.

What You'll Do

• Review and process biweekly and monthly payroll
• Prepare and analyze payroll reports to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local rules and regulations
• Manage annual regulatory updates, including IRS tax tables and State and local agency changes
• Prepare and balance payroll tax reporting to ensure accurate year-end W-2 filing
• Maintain, configure and analyze the payroll software system
• Coordinate with Human Resources on benefit and compensation issues, and maintain employee compensation and benefits records
• Update medical open enrollment rate changes and process monthly benefits invoices
• Research and prepare materials for internal and external auditors
• Support team members and help ensure department deadlines are met

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Solid hands-on payroll experience, including preparing Federal, State and local payroll reports
• Working knowledge of GAAP, general accounting and the general ledger
• Strong Excel skills and strong computational and analytical skills
• Dayforce experience highly preferred; experience with other payroll systems is also valued
• Detail-oriented, accurate and organized, with a track record of meeting deadlines
• Clear, proactive communicator who can prepare concise, complete financial documents and reports
• Sound judgment in setting priorities, maintaining standards and resolving problems

• Dayforce, Excel, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and Outlook

Schedule & Details

• Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Long-term consulting assignment, expected to run 6 months or more
• Hybrid work arrangement based in Tukwila, WA
• Occasional overtime may be requested in non-standard situations
• Candidates will complete an Excel assessment and an accounting assessment
• Interview process: one 30-minute virtual interview with the hiring team
