Job Description - Pediatrician

The Pediatrician will primarily focus on evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder using a variety of diagnostic tools and methodologies. This role is essential in delivering timely assessments and recommendations, supporting families through the diagnostic process, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of children suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder. Analyze and interpret data, and write evaluation reports
  • Utilize standardized diagnostic tools and assessment techniques to determine the presence of ASD.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and educators to gather relevant developmental history and behavioral observations.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication of evaluation results and recommendations to families.
  • Develop individualized care plans and coordinate referrals to appropriate services and therapies.
  • Stay current with the latest research and best practices in ASD diagnosis and treatment.
  • Educate families and the community about Autism Spectrum Disorder and available resources.
  • Follow all state and federal regulatory guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
  • Follow the policies and procedures of Ascend Autism Group

Qualifications:

  • Candidate may work as part-time or full time employee
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification in Pediatrics
  • Licensed Medical Doctor
  • Proven experience in evaluating children for Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Experience (or willingness to receive training in order to) administering various standardized diagnostic tools (e.g. ADOS-2, CARS, Vineland)
  • Must hold applicable state licensure
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of DSM-5
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education in pediatric care and ASD
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent administrative skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.
  • Must be able to lift to 45 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with clients
