POSITION: Peer Recovery Services Specialist / Community Health Worker
POSITION SUMMARY: This is a dual role where the person will perform duties as a peer recovery specialist and/or a community health worker. You will work with some of the community’s most vulnerable population to educate and assist them in locating resources around social determinants of health and/or mental health and substance abuse disorders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct interviews and make appropriate referrals based on the participants self-selection process;
Work with team to educate on community resources, local and statewide;
Facilitate participants’ admission and maintain connection to participants in substance use treatment and recovery programs;
Facilitate community referrals addressing transportation, housing, clothing, food, employment, etc;
Assist with navigating any barriers and provide warm hand-offs to any outside referrals
Maintain participants' electronic files (Athena and REDCAP), assuring privacy and confidentiality, obtaining releases of information from the participant to communicate with other organizations;
Track and report data related to client interactions and outcomes for grant reporting;
Document services appropriately in the electronic healthcare record system;
Respond to overdose calls with Fire/EMS and law enforcement and provide on-scene support;
Participate in community outreach events and REVIVE Trainings as assigned by the department manager;
Bi-weekly check-ins with the Behavioral Health Department Manager and monthly team huddles;
Assist with clerical tasks including but not limited to daily calls, filing, phone calls, distribution of flyers and educational documents, data entry, etc.
Other duties as assigned (may include data management, behavioral health intakes, case management, scholarship requests, specific referral sources such as justice system, first responders, etc).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have lived experience in addiction, mental health, or trauma as a Peer Recovery Specialist;
Peer Recovery Specialist and Community Health Worker training preferred but not required, or obtained in a specific time frame required via the Behavioral Health Department Manager;
REVIVE! Train-the Trainer Certification preferred or obtained in a specific time frame required via the Behavioral Health Department Manager;
Experience in clinical setting preferred.
Must have ability to work independently and as a team player;
Patience, understanding, and compassion in direct interactions with clients;
Highly organized and detail oriented;
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times;
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with people from diverse backgrounds;
Must have working knowledge of office equipment, Microsoft Office and electronic data management.
BENEFITS:
Medical Insurance: Participating employees contribute 25% of the employee medical insurance premium while Bradley Free contributes the remaining 75%. Employees are responsible for 100% of dependents’ medical insurance premiums. Employees who work 30 hours regularly will be eligible for medical the first of the month following 60 days.

Employees are responsible for 100% of dependents’ dental insurance premium. Employees who work 30 hours on a regular basis will be eligible for dental the first of the month following 60 days.
Vision Insurance: Participating employees are responsible for 100% of the insurance premium. Employees who work 30 hours on a regular basis will be eligible for vision the first of the month following 60 days

401K: Bradley Free Clinic will match employees’ contributions 100% up to 3% of the employee’s annual salary and 50% on the next 2% of the employee’s annual salary. Employees are eligible to participate once they attain age 21 and have 1 year service with the company. You will enter the plan on the first day of the month on or after you meet the eligibility requirements. Our 401(k) plan has a three-year cliff vesting schedule. This means you are always 100% vested in contributions you choose to defer; however, you must remain employed for three (3) years to be 100% vested in any employer matching contributions; there is no step vesting schedule.
