Person In Charge (PIC)

The Person In Charge (PIC) is responsible for overseeing store operations in the absence of the Store Director, Assistant Store Director, or Department Managers. The PIC provides leadership and operational support to ensure exceptional customer service, a safe shopping environment, compliance with company policies, and efficient store operations.

• Serve as the acting manager on duty when assigned.


• Ensure all store operations are executed according to company standards and procedures.


• Monitor store conditions, merchandising, pricing, and overall presentation.


• Assist in coordinating daily activities between departments.


• Respond to operational issues and customer concerns as they arise.

• Deliver and promote exceptional customer service throughout the store.


• Address customer questions, complaints, and service recovery situations professionally.


• Support associates in resolving customer issues effectively.


• Maintain a positive shopping experience for all customers.

• Provide direction and guidance to store associates across departments.


• Assist with training and coaching associates on company standards and expectations.


• Communicate operational priorities and ensure execution of assigned tasks.


• Foster a respectful, productive, and team-oriented work environment.


• Support management in maintaining high levels of employee engagement and accountability.

• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.


• Monitor store safety conditions and address hazards promptly.


• Support food safety, sanitation, and loss prevention initiatives.


• Assist with incident reporting and emergency response procedures.


• Ensure adherence to all company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.

• Oversee front-end operations and cash handling procedures when assigned.


• Ensure proper opening, closing, and security procedures are followed.


• Assist with safe counts, register audits, and till accountability.


• Monitor store security and escalate concerns when necessary.

• Support merchandising initiatives and promotional displays.


• Monitor product availability and communicate inventory concerns.


• Assist with inventory counts, stocking priorities, and recovery activities.


• Help maintain department readiness and sales floor standards.
