Personal Care Assistant (PCA)-Conyers & Covington area

JOB SUMMARY:

Immediate opening for skilled PCA's (personal care assistants) with at least 1 year experience supporting individuals 18 years and older with disabilities, post surgical care, and or with cognitive impairment. We're seeking compassionate, supportive, dedicated caregivers, who are focused on providing high quality care. This position provides supervision for safety and assistance to the client with activities of daily living, within the comforts of their home, to maintain a level of independence. 

Shifts available:  Conyers & Covington 

6, 8, 12 hour day, evening, and overnight positions.

• Compensation: $15.50 - $17.00

Personal Care Assistant Responsibilities:

• Help clients with daily activities, including but not limited to: bathing, dressing, serving meals, helping clients eat, turning clients and ambulating clients


• Take vital signs when needed 


• Daily assessment of mental status (alert and oriented)


• Examine clients for bruising, any signs of trauma, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds


• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors and family members


• Assist with bedpans, emptying urine bags, changing client when incontinent  


• Support safe transfer - use of Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices 


• Clean and sanitize client areas, including changing bed sheets


• Stay up-to-date on PCA training, policies and procedures

Personal Care Assistant Requirements:

1. Must have HS Diploma or GED

2. Must have completed personal care training program and competency. May receive on the job training.  

3. Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.

4. Ability to carry out directions, read and write.

5. Experience with clinical documentation a plus. May receive on the job training

5. Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.

6. Must be 18 years or older

7. Must have valid license, proof of auto insurance, and reliable transportation

8. TB test within the last 6 months 

9. CPR/First Aid
