Job Description - Personal Property Admin/Real Property Data Collector Assistant

Status: Full-Time | Closes: September 11th, 2026

Personal Property Admin/Real Property Data Collector Assistant

The Personal Property Admin/Real Property Data Collector Assistant is responsible for the overall administration, valuation, and collection of personal property taxes across the county, focusing specifically on mobile homes and business personal property. Working under the supervision of the County Assessor, this position manages the complete lifecycle of personal property accounts—from actively discovering new businesses and conducting field inspections to calculating tax liabilities using state schedules, issuing bills, and processing payments for the Treasurer's deposit. The role ensures full tax compliance by managing delinquent accounts through enforcement actions like property seizures, liens, and sales, while actively defending property valuations during the appeal process and coordinating state audit results. Additionally, this position delivers front-line customer service, maintains financial cash drawers, assists appraisers with real property field measurements, processes DMV records and transfer surveys, and maintains accurate digital and paper tax rolls for the county.

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with at least two (2) years of directly related experience in tax administration, property assessment, financial recordkeeping, or administrative support. This position requires obtaining and maintaining professional designation as an Ad Valorem Personal Property Auditor/Appraiser, which includes completing required continuing education hours to keep the credentials active. Additionally, the candidate must hold—or be eligible to obtain—an active Notary Public commission and complete Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA) certification.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $20.00-$22.00 an hour, depending on experience, alongside a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being. Your coverage will include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as robust retirement plans and various supplemental insurance options. Additionally, you will gain access to an Employee Assistance Program, an exciting perks program, and Uintah County’s award-winning wellness initiative, which features engaging team activities, convenient on-site health fairs, educational seminars, and full access to our on-site wellness center and gym equipment.
