Pharmacy Floor Technician

Pharmacy Floor Technician (Night Shift)
Location: 441 Commerce Rd, Vestal, NY 13850 (onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 4:30 PM-1:00 AM, plus every other weekend, 9:00 PM-5:30 AM. Mandatory overtime as needed.
Pay: $20/hr

Role Summary:
Picks, labels, scans, and prepares finished prescriptions for final pharmacist verification, supporting accurate and timely fulfillment of daily drug orders under pharmacist supervision.

Day to day responsibilities:

• Fills daily drug orders accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a pharmacist
• Pulls and picks medications from shelving and other storage areas, including prepack racks
• Applies labels to blister cards and scans each product for accuracy checks
• Alerts the pharmacist on duty to any medication or product that is not scanning properly
• Packages materials and products manually
• Assists in processing returned drugs and recycles or disposes of them per procedure
• Assists in prepacking frequently ordered medications, labeling and storing them during low-volume times
• Maintains designated workstation areas and replenishes stock supplies
• Follows all applicable government regulations, including HIPAA
• Complies with departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work at a moderate speed
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
• Ability to work the night shift schedule, including mandatory overtime, holidays, and weekends as needed
• A pharmacy technician license is not required in New York State

Preferred:

• Previous pharmacy technician experience

Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently, and may sit or stand seven to ten hours per day. Extended hours may be necessary. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment is required. May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion. Requires visual acuity to read fine print, including close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus, and the ability to hear normal voice sounds.
