Description:

 Position Summary: Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records.  Assists Pharmacist in coordination of technician activities for a shift, or a functional area within the pharmacy.  Assists Manager in training, competency validation, coaching of staff for adherence to standard work, maintenance of key records, and is a content expert for the primary area of assignment.  Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors and staff.

Qualifications: High school education or equivalent. Preferred Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program; or two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications. Completion of PTCB Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred.

Credentials/Licensure: Certified and licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in the State of Michigan.  

Related Experience:

Minimum five years of inpatient pharmacy work experience.  At least two years as a Pharmacy Technician IV with consistent experience making simple and complex IV Admixtures, including chemotherapy and other hazardous medication compounding.

Variable work hours, Weekends may be required
