Pharmacy Technician - Casual

  Monday - Friday 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

  
  

Duties and Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Prepares medications for patients under direction of a registered Pharmacist.

  
  


• 
  

  Performs in a support capacity to ensure medications are prepared for dispensing to patients in a safe manner.

  
  


• 
  

  Assists Pharmacists in maintaining an accurate medication profile for each patient receiving medications with the institution according to the department and hospital policies and procedures.

  
  


• 
  

  Assists with management of drug stock, including, but not limited to, shelving new drug stock (with proper rotation of items), arranging stock and organizing storage areas, documenting the need for ordering items, and maintaining proper documentation and record keeping. 

  
  


• 
  

  Packages dry orals, liquid orals and small volume injectables in unit of use containers using a combination of mechanical equipment and manual procedures.

  
  

Requirements

• 
  

  Flexibility in scheduling to meet department needs.

  
  

Education/Certifications

• 
  

  High School Diploma or equivalent.

  
  


• 
  

  Must register as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy prior to start date.

  
  


• 
  

  National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 6 months from date of hire required.

  
  

Experience

• 
  

  Previous Pharmacy Technician Certification within 6 months from the date of hire required.
