The Donor Relations "Philanthropy" Coordinator conducts in-depth prospect research and donor analytics to inform and guide the department’s solicitation strategies for individual giving and data management. This position is also responsible for maintaining the department’s online fundraising database (currently Donor Perfect Online) as well as the electronic and paper files related to all gifts solicited and received. The Donor Relations Coordinator works closely with Philanthropy staff to ensure accurate and timely reporting and correspondence for grants and donor cultivation and stewardship.
Two – four years of experience in prospect research, donor analytics and database management; demonstrated understanding of fundraising principles
Ability to investigate, analyze, and synthesize large quantities of data into a user-friendly and concise format for the Philanthropy team
Excellent computer skills; including proficiency with fundraising software/databases (Donor Perfect Online or NetSuite is highly preferred)
Accuracy and time management skills required; highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once in a deadline-driven environment
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Ability to exercise excellent judgment, discretion, and sensitivity in handling confidential information
Essential Duties:
Prospect Research and Donor Analytics
Using a broad spectrum of sources, research, organize, and evaluate a prospect’s financial capacity, ability to give, willingness to give, charitable interests, and connection to Jefferson Center
Produce in-depth, well-written reports on prospects based on a combination of data from the donor database, available financial records, real estate ownership, and other markers of high-quality donors
Prepare and present prospect briefings for the Director of Philanthropy, Vice President of Business Development and Community Engagement, and CEO, and any other staff with an assigned portfolio
Maintain and manage the philanthropy/donor management database; enter and track contributions and document donor communication, cultivation, and stewardship
Generate regular and special reports using the donor database; provide analyses of giving trends, campaign solicitations and event results to strategize future donor solicitation and engagement
Assist the Director of Philanthropy in designing and launching a Planned Giving campaign
Assist the Director of Philanthropy in building individual donor pipeline strategy and stewardship plan
Proactively create and pull reports from the donor management system to inform donor relations activities
Serve as lead for Partners in Hope monthly giving program
Grants Management Support
Generate regular and special reports using the donor database
Create monthly grant activity reports and participate in the report review meetings
Process gifts including acknowledgement letters, and assist with funder/donor correspondence
Ensure grant contracts are reviewed, signed, and returned according to funders’ deadlines and requirements
Maintain tracking system for department/program needs to help inform prospect research
Donor Relations Support
Ensure donor recognition information in the annual report and on Jefferson Center’s website is current and updated at regular intervals
Manage gift processing and ensure timely acknowledgement of gifts
Assist in scheduling meetings with prospective donors and funders as needed
Other
Provide support for community relations projects, including the non-clinical volunteer program and Jefferson Center’s annual fundraising events
Participate in Philanthropy & Communications Department meetings
Exhibit enthusiasm, courtesy, adaptability, flexibility, and spirit of cooperation in the work environment
Maintain effective interpersonal relations with consumers, peers, subordinates, upper management, visitors, and the general public
Maintain positive interactions with clients, community members, and staff
Respond promptly (within one business day) to phone calls, emails, and other requests
Demonstrate a willingness and ability to work nights and weekends as necessary
Must have reliable transportation to attend meetings and events
Must be able to lift with our without assistance up to 25 lbs.

Salary Range: $63,800 to $81,200*
Additional Salary Information*:
The salary range above is based on 1.0 FTE (full time equivalent) or 40 hours per week. Less than 40 hours/week will be prorated and adjusted to the appropriate FTE.*
Jefferson Center pay is determined by various factors including education level, licensure level, years of relative experience, and internal equity amongst current staff.
