Phlebotomist - Richmond VEOC

This private endocrinology practice is looking for a highly-organized, outgoing and friendly person to serve as its Phlebotomist. This position will be responsible for all blood draws and specimen preparation to support our in-office lab including:

· Doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.

· Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures

· Setting patients at ease and explaining clearly and courteously the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing)

· Packaging specimens for transport when needed

· Properly storing specimen samples

· Answering telephone calls, reading laboratory results upon inquiry

· Performing data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

· Maintaining patient and specimen information logs

· Providing superior customer service to all patients

· Understanding and complying with OSHA regulations

· Administrative and clerical duties as necessary

Applicants must have:

· High school diploma or equivalent

· Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency, preferred

· Previous experience as a phlebotomist

· Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service

· Strong communication and organizational skills
