Provides Physical Therapy care to patients as prescribed by the practitioner.
Assists the health care team in the planning and provision of patient care, including appropriate documentation and identification of patient symptoms and responses to physical therapy. Communicates both verbally and in writing, pertinent data regarding the patients' care, status, interventions, and responses to other members of the health care team.
Communicates assessments of patients to medical staff and other health team members involved in the delivery of patient and family services as appropriate.
Provides patient and family education to facilitate optimum health and level of functioning.
Assists with patient discharge planning, as appropriate, and provides appropriate assistance for the post hospitalized patient.
Provides in-service and education on new equipment, therapies, or supplies to patients, families, and staff as appropriate.
Provides a safe patient environment by, but not limited to administering physical therapy safely and as ordered, performing procedures
according to current standards, maintaining an orderly work area, and ensuring proper functioning of all physical therapy equipment.
Incorporates the principles of infection control and patient safety in the delivery of patient care.
Maintains clinical competency by continually upgrades knowledge and skills, takes responsibility for his/her continued growth and education, attends staff meetings, or if unable to attend, takes responsibility for obtaining information discussed at the meeting, maintains current
CPR certification.
Participates in quality improvement by reporting potential problems, uses appropriate forms/format, completes monitoring projects, as assigned, and participates in the development of solutions and the resolution of problems.
Requirements
Current Physical Therapy licensures through the State of Washington
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider Certification required within 6 months
One year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
