Nuvance Health, formerly known as Western Connecticut Health, has as excellent opportunity for a full-time, employed Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Connecticut. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule with mostly outpatient coverage. No evenings, weekends, or call. Danbury is located about 60 miles northeast of New York City in suburban Fairfield County and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in New York State.
The ideal candidate will be a board certified Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with previous Hematology/Oncology experience and looking to join a dedicated and collegial team. This position requires a minimum formal education of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant training, State of CT license, and Federal DEA and CT Controlled Substance Registration. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, as well as allowances for CMEs and Dues.
Our long established and growing practice includes seven physicians and four Advanced Practitioners. Our office is based in Praxair Cancer Center within the Danbury Hospital Campus. We offer multidisciplinary cancer care, collaborating with Surgical and Medical Subspecialties, Radiation Oncology, and Palliative Care. Additionally, we offer Diagnostic Imaging, Cancer Genetics, Radiation Therapy, Cancer Research and Trials and Psychological and Social Support Services. Our employed practice sees a broad spectrum of Hematology/Oncology patients in the office and hospital.
Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are affiliated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Our Medical Group includes 900+ physician and advanced practice providers, serving a geographically broad region throughout Western Connecticut and eastern New York.
Danbury, Connecticut, located in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains and on the border of New York State, is about 60 miles northeast of New York City and 60 miles west of Hartford, CT.
