Job Description - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

Description

  

Meridian HealthCare is looking to hire a full-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work within our organization to provide excellent care while implementing an integrated approach to their health treatment plan. 

Starting yearly salary is dependent upon licensure and experience but ranges from: $99,000 - $140,000. 

Daily Expectations and Duties – Overview:

  • Diagnosing and treatment.
  • Performing medical examinations.
  • Administrating or directing health treatment procedures as appropriate.
  • Administrating or directing the administration of MAT and other health treatment procedures as appropriate.
  • Ordering labs or tests as necessary.
  • Consults with the CMO, Medical Director, and other Behavioral Health Providers on treatment of patients to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Provides  timely progress notes and other medical reports on all patients.
  • Assists with developing and/or implementing in-service training programs designed to upgrade staff's knowledge regarding health concerns and new technology in the health care treatment, including substance treatment.
  • Develops policies and procedures regarding medical services and medical components of activities including research, service evaluation and quality assurance  in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • Provides prescriptions for medication within the scope of practice in collaboration with the Medical Director.
  • On an on-going basis, collaborates with staff of other clinical departments within the Agency to afford a team approach to client care promoting continuity and unified goal setting.

Qualifications:

For Physician Assistants: 

  • Master's degree and completion of accredited Physician Assistant Program required. Current licensure and Certificate of Authority to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Ohio required. DOT Cert. and X-Waiver preferred.

For Nurse Practitioners: 

  • Master's degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration/Certification; Current licensure and Certificate of Authority to practice as a nurse practitioner in the state of Ohio; FNP certification preferred. 

In addition to the above qualifications, all candidates should meet the following:

  • BLS & ACLS certification
  • 2+ years' experience in family practice environment preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also able to collaborate effectively with other staff members to provide quality patient care
  • Behavioral health experience desirable
  • Maintains required training in accordance with the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment Act (MAT Act)
