Plant Electrician - Industrial Maintenance

Job Description - Plant Electrician - Industrial Maintenance

$45-50/hour + Overtime (40+)

Conshohocken, Pennsylvania

The Opportunity

This is a newly added position on the maintenance team at a privately owned manufacturer that's been running for over 60 years. You'd be stepping into a stable operation with low turnover, working across PLC-driven automation, distribution systems, and switchgear rather than just chasing breakdowns on legacy equipment.

Why You'll Love This Role

The company is financially stable and privately held, which tends to mean steadier priorities and less churn than you'll find at larger, publicly traded operations. Because this is a newly created role, you're not walking into someone else's backlog or filling a seat left by turnover.

The work itself covers real electrical scope: PLC ladder logic, HMI systems, AC/DC drives, and electrical distribution and switchgear across multiple departments in the facility. You'll be installing and programming equipment, not just maintaining what's already there.

Pay runs $45-50/hour with overtime for anything over 40 hours a week.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Inspect, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment across the facility
  • Install and program electrical equipment, including starters, motors, regulators, controllers, and switches
  • Interpret PLC ladder logic programs and work with HMI systems
  • Draw schematics and measure, cut, and install wiring and conduit systems to spec
  • Diagnose faulty equipment operation, determine corrective action, and document repairs in the maintenance scheduling program
  • Perform electrical testing with meggars, voltmeters, and ammeters, and troubleshoot distribution systems and switchgear
  • Maintain accurate work orders, inspection reports, and material usage records
  • Direct and assist coworkers on jobs requiring coordination

What We're Looking For

  • Journeyman electrician certification, or 10+ years of verified experience as an industrial electrician
  • 8-25 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code and local codes
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret PLC ladder logic
  • Experience with AC/DC drives, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial lighting systems
  • Comfort operating high-lift and forklift equipment (Toyota, Genie, etc.)
  • Ability to work at heights, stand and climb for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs (occasionally 100 lbs with a team)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must pass a background check and drug test
  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Prior experience in an industrial environment strongly preferred

Why Candidates Say Yes

A privately owned company with 60+ years in business and low turnover offers a level of stability that's hard to find right now. Because this role is newly created rather than a replacement, you'd be defining the position rather than inheriting someone else's problems.
