Plant Engineering Technician - Tucker, GA

The work schedule for this position is [insert shift & schedule]. Variable shifts will occasionally be required based on demand. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform advanced troubleshooting of complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Lead and support detailed maintenance job scoping activities by conducting comprehensive field walk‑downs, assessing equipment condition and failure modes, and defining accurate work scope requirements including labor, materials, tooling, sequencing, and safety considerations to enable high‑quality job planning.
• Apply advanced condition monitoring and diagnostic techniques, including vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, infrared/thermal imaging, oil analysis interpretation, and other reliability tools—to identify developing failure conditions and recommend corrective or preventive actions.
• Interpret condition monitoring data and inspection results to prioritize work, refine job scopes, and support long‑term reliability and maintenance strategy decisions.
• Perform and verify precision maintenance activities such as shaft alignment, balancing, torque control, calibration, tolerance verification, and proper installation techniques to ensure equipment performance, repeatability, and asset longevity.
• Lead analysis for chronic failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Plan and execute complex overhauls, rebuilds, and upgrades.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and maintainability.
• Provide advanced technical support across departments and production areas.
• Mentor technicians and support capital project commissioning activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Two‑year technical degree or equivalent advanced industrial maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance or engineering technician experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Proven experience applying precision maintenance techniques and advanced diagnostic methods.
• Ability to lead troubleshooting efforts and independently resolve complex equipment failures.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including lifting up to 50 pounds; twisting, bending, kneeling, and crawling on top of or under equipment; working in hot and cold environments; operating aerial lifts; using ladders; and working at heights.

Preferred

• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician (CMRT), PMMI Mechatronics Certification, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting capital projects, equipment installations, or major overhauls.
