Job Description - Poker Director

Position: Poker Director


Department: Poker Operations 


Reports to: President


FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-Time

We are seeking a Poker Director to lead and elevate the poker program at Champions Club Texas. This is a leadership role for someone who is ready to do more than manage a room, someone who wants to build a program, develop a team, and help define what poker looks like at one of Texas's most exciting entertainment destinations. The Director will own the full poker operation, from game integrity and regulatory compliance to financial performance, staff development, and the guest experience. This role sits at the leadership table and is expected to bring both strategic vision and operational excellence to everything they touch.


Responsibilities: 



  • Oversee the long-term strategy and growth of the poker room as well as the team that manages daily operations for game setup, dealer assignments, and customer flow

  • Oversee the Cage / Cashier operations

  • Ensure games run smoothly and in accordance with house rules and gaming regulations

  • Implement and enforce security measures to prevent fraud and maintain game integrity

  • Manage the recruitment, training, scheduling, and evaluation of poker dealers, floor, and cage staff

  • Ensure all team members adhere to company policies and gaming regulations

  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to improve staff performance

  • Develop a culture within the poker team that fosters a welcoming, professional atmosphere for guests

  • Handle customer inquiries, disputes, and complaints with professionalism

  • Ensure the President of Champions is notified of any unusual incidents or events involving guests or team members

  • Create and execute a clear marketing strategy, in partnership with the marketing team, to grow and promote events that attract and retain players and new guests, including tournaments and special events

  • Monitor table revenue, manage budgets, and ensure profitability

  • Own and track financial performance, including revenue, payroll, and operational expenditure, in partnership with accounting and finance

  • Maintain adherence to all local, state, and federal gaming regulations; comply with Champions Club and Title 31 regulations for accurate currency transaction reporting; and ensure compliance with all laws governing alcohol service, specifically age verification and enforcement of customer drink limits

  • Maintain accurate records of game activity and incident reports

  • Build relationships with high-value players and create loyalty programs

  • Drive community outreach through strategic partnerships, events, and support

  • Analyze customer data and trends to improve player engagement


Experience & Skills:



  • Prior experience as a Poker Manager, or similar role in a casino/card room setting

  • In-depth knowledge of poker rules, regulations, and industry trends

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities

  • Ability to analyze financial reports and manage budgets


Qualities & Preferences:



  • 5-7 years of experience managing a team, preferably in a poker setting

  • Experience running poker tournaments and promotional events

  • Knowledge of hotel-casino operations and guest service best practices
