Job Summary

Reporting to the Supervisor Diagnostic, the Polysomnographic Technologist New Grad is responsible for performing a variety of Sleep Studies on infants and children to include calibrations, monitoring equipment set-up and scoring based on the American Academy of Sleep Medicine Guidelines. Processing of all documentation in order to provide accurate information to the physician.

Pay Range

Minimum $30.94 Midpoint $40.99 Maximum $51.05

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience:

• None required
• Prefers one or more years of experience in pediatric healthcare

Education:

• High School diploma or GED. Enrollment in an accredited Polysomnography or RCP program. Must maintain a minimum of 10 CECs annually specific to the discipline of sleep medicine; approved by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine or Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
• Prefers Associate's degree
• Prefers some college or allied health course work with EEG or Sleep Laboratory experience
• Prefers RRT/RCP

Training:

• Must obtain Polysomnographic Technologist credential (RPSGT) within one year of hire
• PEARS certification within 90 days of hire

Specialized Skills:

• Desire to work with children and their families; Ability to communicate technical and/or clinical observations and accurately score records
• Prefers bilingual English-Spanish; Proficiency in use and theory of all equipment relating to sleep diagnostic testing

Licensure:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• PEARS-Ped EMer Asmt Recog Stbl
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist - CA

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
