Description

Position Summary

Porters are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance of the branded location at all times. Responsibilities include sweeping and mopping floors, removing debris, collecting soiled cups for washing, disposing of trash appropriately, and responding promptly to spills and biohazard incidents while following all health, safety, and venue standards.

Essential Functions

Anticipate and accommodate the needs of guests and team members.
Provide assistance, training, and support to fellow team members.
Maintain general knowledge of all food and beverage menus and venue offerings.
Maintain general knowledge of retail merchandise, where applicable.
Comply with all Department of Health standards.
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall appearance of the venue.
Report any damaged equipment, furniture, or safety concerns immediately to management.
Properly remove and store garbage, dirty service ware, and linens.
Ensure all walkways remain clean, swept, mopped, and free of debris.
Use cleaning chemicals, soaps, and supplies safely and properly.
Complete all assigned opening, closing, and side work duties.
Attend daily pre-shift meetings and departmental training sessions.
Learn and share knowledge through observation, teamwork, and leading by example.
Maintain a positive, professional attitude at all times.
Demonstrate knowledge of the company, its partners, and the supporting hotel environment.
Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Coffee Station Responsibilities

Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of coffee stations and service areas.
Communicate guest needs to Front-of-House and Heart-of-House team members.
Deliver coffee and tea orders accurately and promptly when required.
Remove dirty service items after beverage delivery.
Support overall guest satisfaction through attentive service.
Ensure compliance with all sanitation and health standards.
Set up and stock coffee stations with required supplies.
Monitor perishable items and discard expired products immediately.
Notify management of expired products or excessive waste.

Training Requirements

Completion of Tao Group Hospitality in-venue Porter Training.

EDUCATION / WORKING KNOWLEDGE

Basic understanding of and ability to communicate in English.
Previous hospitality or high-volume restaurant experience preferred.

Exposure to hot kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals.
Ability to work extended hours, irregular shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
Office, casino, nightclub, bar, lounge, and restaurant environments.
Must maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with company standards.
Must interact professionally and courteously with guests, managers, co-workers, and vendors.
Ability to remain effective in a busy and sometimes stressful work environment.
